Infants, toddlers, and children through 6th grade will be welcomed with open arms! Children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and we seek to provide Christ-centered teaching of the Bible so they live a lifetime of obedience (Proverbs 22:6).
Students 7th-12th grade are invited to taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8) As students transition from child- to adulthood, we encourage them to step boldly into their own faith and follow the Lord wholeheartedly.
College students and young adults are packed with potential but often underutilized when it comes to the mission of God. If this is you, come find community, study the word, and catch fire to "waste your life" in pursuit of the glory of God!
Men need to be in community with other brothers in Christ so they can be encouraged and strengthened to follow Jesus well. At HGBC, this often looks like sharing meals together, serving at Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, taking care of physical needs of people in our community, or just getting together for coffee.
Women are made for community! Through Bible study, special events, WMU meetings, service projects, and just hanging out, women will find community and fellowship among sisters in Christ while growing in Him.
Hiway 80 Rescue Mission is a ministry located in Longview, Texas that exists to glorify God by providing a safe and supportive environment where homeless and hurting men, women and children can experience life transformation through Christ. Hickory Grove partners with Hiway 80 Rescue Mission by serving a meal and sharing a short message of Jesus with the men once a month. If you have questions about Hiway 80 or are interested in serving there, please contact Dennis Cooley ((903)987-2406) or Alyssa Wallace (alyssa@hgbckilgore.org).
Held is Hickory Grove's new ministry to mothers and pregnant. We partner with Living Alternatives in Tyler, TX by serving with the Axia Center by helping to staff the free mobile pregnancy testing and ultrasound unit. This mobile unit travels to Marshall, Lindale, Athens, Tyler, Henderson, and now Kilgore to provide ultrasounds when able and access to resources which help new mothers support life. We are also developing a resource closet and eventual classes/trainings which will serve new mothers in our community. If you have questions about Held or are interested in serving with us, contact Alyssa Wallace (alyssa@hgbckilgore.org).
Helping Hands of Kilgore is a ministry that aims to eliminate hunger in Kilgore Texas, by distributing nutritious foods to people in need, building strong community partnerships, promoting self-sufficiency, instilling confidence and hope, while engaging the public in the fight to end hunger. Their heart is to “Serve God by Serving Others”. We partner with Helping Hands by providing donations of non-perishable foods as often as possible. You can always find a box for Helping Hands donations in the foyer of the sanctuary, or at special events like Vacation Bible School. If you have questions or would like to serve at Helping Hands, please contact Dennis Cooley ((903)987-2406) or Alyssa Wallace (alyssa@hgbckilgore.org).
The Kilgore College Baptist Student Ministry desires that each individual we encounter would know Jesus and have a relationship with him, become more like Him as we live out our faith, and share His Good News at Kilgore College and to all nations. We do this through regular outreach on campus, offering free lunch, studying the Bible in community, training students to share the Good News of Jesus, and going on mission together. Hickory Grove partners with the KC BSM to provide a couple of the weekly meals they provide for students. If you would like to help serve at the BSM, please contact Kristi Wallace (kristiwallace@gmail.com).
At Hickory Grove we seek to share the gospel of Jesus with our neighbors through intentional verbal and non-verbal expressions of His love. We do this in many ways: visiting homes, hosting block parties, providing community events such as fall festivals and Easter egg hunts, partnering with local ministries, and learning to have gospel conversations at church events and in everyday life. HGBC leadership is currently organizing our local mission strategy so please pray for how we can best serve our neighbors and reach them with the Good News of Jesus. If you are interested in serving locally, contact Alyssa Wallace (alyssa@hgbckilgore.org).
At Hickory Grove we seek to be a body that equips its members to carry the Good News of Jesus not just to our immediate neighbors but to neighbors of every people, language, tribe, and tongue. HGBC has historically been strong financial supporters of God's global mission, and some members have joined in the effort by participating in other church's trips. HGBC leadership is currently organizing our national and international mission strategy so please pray for how we can best serve our neighbors and reach them with the Good News of Jesus. If you are interested in serving locally, contact Alyssa Wallace (alyssa@hgbckilgore.org).
